Anna - Get to know your vocal coach
Hi! My name is Anna Pike and I have recently graduated from a leading UK drama school where I studied a degree in BA (Hons) Performing Arts. I have a wealth of knowledge on singing, voice and safe vocal technique in a range of styles including MT, pop, rock and legit singing. So, whether you are completely new to singing, or you are a singer looking for a top-up on your skills, I would love to work with you! I believe that vocal coaching is most effective when tailored to an individual's specific needs and goals, so lessons with me will be personalised to you! My specific areas of knowledge: 1) Building a foundation/fine-tuning safe vocal technique in a variety of styles 2) Repertoire- helping to build a collection of songs suitable for different auditions/performance settings 3) Confidence and mindset- fostering a comfortable and open environment to make singing feel less scary! 4) Drama School auditions- I went through 2 drama school audition seasons before I was accepted onto my degree course, so I have specific expertise on drama school audition technique 5) Professional audition coaching- being that I am currently an auditioning professional in the industry, I can give current and relevant advice on self tapes, in person auditions and agent auditions

Singing concepts taught by Anna
The session involved a vocal assessment for a musical theater student preparing for auditions and college applications. The Tutor and Student practiced vocal warm-ups, discussed concepts like vocal agility, placement, soft palate, tongue tension, and diction through exercises and tongue twisters. They also analyzed the student's performance of a song from "Mean Girls," providing feedback on pitch, power, and vowel production, and outlined a potential future lesson plan.

The Student and Tutor conducted a singing trial lesson focusing on identifying the Student's vocal range and introducing foundational vocal techniques. They practiced various vocal warm-ups, including humming and slides, and discussed vocal transitions, mix voice, and anchoring exercises. For the next session, the Student was tasked with bringing a song they enjoy to break down and apply new vocal techniques.
