Hi! I’m Chun-Yang Kuo, but you can call me Josh. I’m currently in my second year of a Bachelor of Music at SAE University College Sydney. I have experience in both online tutoring and in-person teaching, with a focus on beginner-level music production and language tutoring. I’m happy to work with students from beginner to intermediate level, and I welcome learners of all ages, from kids to adults. Music has always been a huge passion of mine, both in production and performance. I also understand what it feels like to start from zero. When I first began making music, I had no formal music theory background. I knew how to play piano and guitar, and I wanted to turn my ideas into songs—but actually producing a complete pop song was much harder than I expected! That experience taught me that creativity and technical skills need to grow together. Once you build the right skills to support your creativity, you can explore almost any style of music—from jazz and indie pop to lo-fi and house. I speak Mandarin and English fluently, and I also have conversational Japanese skills. When teaching music production, I like to focus on practical, hands-on learning. Depending on your goals, I can guide you through creating a complete song. I’ll also provide useful resources, techniques, and tips that you can continue using even after the lesson ends. Most importantly, I genuinely love making and producing music, and I want my students to enjoy the process too.
