Hello! My name is Vuyiswa Sigadi, and I’m a professional soprano and passionate voice teacher dedicated to helping students discover, develop, and celebrate their unique voices. With a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and continued training through an Artist Diploma at the University of Texas at Austin, I bring professional performance experience and a comprehensive approach to vocal education. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that healthy singing technique is the foundation for confidence, consistency, and artistic freedom. I take a holistic, personalized approach, recognizing that every singer has different strengths, learning styles, goals, and experiences. I create a welcoming environment where students can explore their voices, ask questions, make discoveries, and grow as musicians. I have taught students of various ages, including at Songbird SF, focusing on vocal technique, breath support, performance preparation, and individualized feedback. I believe teaching involves helping students understand their voices, develop healthy habits, strengthen musical awareness, and express themselves authentically. My musical background is versatile. I specialize in classical, jazz, R&B, soft rock, alternative, and beyond, while welcoming pop, folk, and other styles. Whether you are preparing for an opera performance, developing your contemporary voice, preparing for an audition, or seeking greater confidence, I tailor lessons to your goals. I also incorporate ear training, musical interpretation, diction, performance preparation, and artistic expression. I would love to help you build a healthy foundation and discover joy singing has to offer!

Singing concepts taught by Vuyiswa
The Student and Tutor worked on vocal warm-ups, including lip trills and specific vowel modifications to navigate vocal breaks and improve air pressure release. They then focused on a song from 'Beauty and the Beast,' practicing storytelling, inflection, and the strategic elongation of words. The session concluded with a discussion on breath support and high vocal placement for speaking and singing, with a plan to incorporate these techniques and work on the song again in the next session, possibly exploring another song afterward.
