Erin - Your piano teacher
Student needs and learning styles are put ahead of my own in an educational setting. For 9+ years, I have been teaching private, in-home piano & voice lessons; first in Los Angeles, then in Chicago. My specialized subjects include Classical Piano, Jazz Piano, and composition. My background in music supervision and licensing also keeps me engaged with soundtracks and film scores, catering to all levels from kids to advanced players. With a focus on personalized learning, my expert teaching ensures progress in each lesson, whether it’s mastering finger placement or delving into Music Theory. As a teacher, I get to learn from my students and create a positive impact. Jobs like this create a positive impact because learning from a mentor/tutor is a tradition that had been passed down tgrough antiquity. Being able to pass knowledge from individual to individual is how we advance and grow through life, and I must tell you, teaching is a noble profession. Advancing minds need care and attention, and I am grateful to have worked at the skills in my life to give back in this way. Teaching is a way of life and I am here to stay. Thank you very much! Please feel free to contact me or any previous employers for personal references.

Piano concepts taught by Erin
The Tutor and Student reviewed piano finger numbers, the musical alphabet, and practiced identifying notes F, B, and D across the keyboard. They completed warm-up exercises in middle C position and learned two new songs, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" (requiring both hands) and "Ode to Joy" (right hand only), while also revisiting "Mary Had a Little Lamb." For homework, the Student was assigned to practice these songs and a two-hand "C position" coordination exercise, focusing on ascending and descending scales with both hands.
