Elizabeth - Get to know your vocal coach
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Knowles and I specalise in classical singing and performance. I am a young classical singer aged 19 however, despite my young age, I have incredible experience and knowledge to teach young children and beginners. I have worked for choirs with people from the ages of 4-70+ where I taught choral, pop, classical, folk and many more genres. All students I taught said they had so much fun and learnt lots about music and their own voices. My teaching style is relaxed, calming and fun with positive feedback working on becoming a better and wellrounded student. We will be learning the fundamentals of music from Italian language to performance techinques. As for my experience, I was the youngest applicant to apply for the Glyndebourn academy aged (16-26) I was 16 and 3 months of which I got through 3 rounds of tough competition! I entered and won every single round of the Rotary Young Musican Of The Year 2024 and I can proudly say I hold a national title. I have Performed in many prestigious places including St Paul’s Cathedral in London and also the Sagrada Familia in Catalonia Spain performing the Alegri Miserri both in which I did solos. I went to a very musical sixth form in which I performed every single week in Rochester cathedral and took every single opportunity I could. I have been apart of many different choirs from the Kent Count Choir to the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain of which I went from the age 11-18 I have also performed in the St Mathews Passion and was a named part. I was lucky enough to be taught and inspired by amazing teachers and I want to give that same experience and oppertunity that I had to you! :)

The primary goal was to identify the student's vocal range by vocalizing scales and vowels, with initial work on pitch accuracy and vowel modification for higher notes. The next lesson will continue this assessment and introduce further vocal development exercises.
