I’m Jess Penson, a singer, producer, composer and music educator based in Naarm/Melbourne, with a background spanning vocal performance, music production and songwriting. I began classical piano training at the age of seven and studied classical singing throughout high school, performing and competing in choral competitions across New Zealand before moving into jazz and contemporary vocal training. I have experience teaching music and working with students of different ages and abilities. I previously taught general music classes and have been involved in music production and Ableton workshops, helping emerging musicians develop their creative and technical skills. My approach to vocal teaching is centred around building strong technique while helping students develop confidence, musicality and their own individual voice. Lessons can cover vocal technique, breath control, pitch and melody, rhythm, ear training, harmony, performance skills and songwriting, with the content tailored to each student's goals and experience. Whether you’re completely new to singing, looking to build confidence, or an experienced vocalist wanting to refine your technique and performance skills, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where you can develop your voice and have fun with music.
