I am a teacher who values connection. I prioritize making connections, and intentionally creating relationships. I try to connect with the people I lead by relating to them as best as possible. An example of this is at the camp I work at. I have been working at this camp for four years, and I have learned to get through to people and teach them in a way which lasts, I have to be make long lasting connections which sticks with them. Another example of this being useful in a coaching enivronment is coaching basketball and volleyball. I have coached for two years and my greatest success was connecting and relating with the players where they were and going from there. Another example of teaching people instruments and my experience was when I taught people at my school for worship how to play guitar. I knew how it was as a beginner and I know techniques in which can help people grow. By relating myself to the people I was teaching, I could better understand and teach thrm in an applicable way. If I were to have had a close-minded approach then I know I wouldn’t have been able to have helped that person grow more in guitar. Overall, my experience has shaped me to be someone who is receptive and open in life.
