Prestley - Your piano teacher
Not only have I tutored young students since before high school, I have also tutored people of all ages with the piano. From the skills I have gathered and the knowledge I have gained from tutoring, I prioritize two things for students: making lessons enjoyable, and making lessons valuable. I pride myself on the ability to accommodate for different needs. Whether you want to learn how to play Chopin or if you want to play your favorite songs, there is benefit for everybody. My specialties: -Building technique -Classical Repertoire and Styles -Ear Training -Exercises and Drills -Performing on Stage/Battling Stage Fright I also believe it is very important not only to know how we do what is taught, but also to know why it is significant. I aim for everything in my lessons to be meaningful. I also aim to build poise and character, as I believe it deepens our musical knowledge. I also like to inspire students to look toward external sources beyond lessons, as it is also valuable to teach ourselves. I like to give several recommendations and examples for resources and performances. Lastly, I embrace communication to the fullest extent. I want lessons to be intentional and comfortable, so that we can improve ourselves and love music more every day.

Piano concepts taught by Prestley
The session was a demo piano lesson where the Tutor assessed the Student's playing and discussed their learning history, particularly challenges with previous strict teaching methods. They focused on foundational piano techniques, including proper hand shape, identifying notes (C-D-E), and the introduction of rhythm and metronome use, with plans to make future learning engaging and fun. The Student is encouraged to practice daily, focusing on enjoyment.
