Hello! My name is Alicja, I am a friendly, enthusiastic piano tutor with over 4 years experience in teaching privately and for schools. I am passionate about delivering high quality professional lessons while creating a warm, supportive atmosphere for all my students, beginners and advanced pupils alike. I am 20 years old, teach according to the ABRSM syllabus and pride myself on being resourceful in finding the best materials for my students to use, whatever their goal. Whether you are a complete beginner starting out, looking to develop your skills as a hobby or professionaly, my role is to support you and make learning fun 😊 I think good technique is the foundation for learning the piano, developed through practice and careful guidance. That’s why I pride myself on paying close attention to posture, correct hand and finger positioning as well as correcting tension in the body. I spent 10 years at one of the most prestigious private music schools in the UK, and am thrilled to be studying at the Royal College of Music in London, where I get to share my love of the piano with audiences and my students, who I view as performers in the making! I love to get my students properly engaged with their pieces and the history of the music as well as their composers, so I love to ask thoughtful questions to get their imaginations working 😉
