Aly - Get to know your vocal coach
Hi, I’m Aly, a Guildhall-trained professional singer and vocal coach with over 15 years of teaching experience and an international performing career. Early on, I experienced a difficult vocal break, a voice that moved from quiet to strained, frequent voice loss in noisy rooms and sore throats before performances. I worked with some of the UK’s leading vocal coaches to understand and rebuild my instrument. From this journey, I developed my own 12-week method, Voice Awakening, to help other singers access the freedom I had struggled to find. Voice Awakening takes you on a journey of vocal discovery from the inside out. You’ll learn to feel and understand your instrument while improving your technique, range, resonance, breath control, alignment and musicality. Together, we’ll release unnecessary throat strain, strengthen your chest, head and mixed voice and develop a richer sound that carries without pushing. This approach helps you move from self-conscious singing to greater freedom, confidence and expression. It can also strengthen your speaking voice, presence and ability to take up space in everyday life. I began singing at Salisbury Cathedral at eight, continued at Wells Cathedral and later studied Jazz at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. My career has included touring internationally with The Boxettes, performing with Shlomo and the Vocal Orchestra and Submotion Orchestra, and singing backing vocals for Jarvis Cocker. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced singer, I’ll meet you where you are and help you discover your unique sound and develop a voice you genuinely love using..
