Jennifer - Know your tutor
Hi! I’m a University of Melbourne Master’s student in Data Science and a full-time Technology Consultant with over a year of tutoring experience. I tutor maths students from primary school through to Year 12, tailoring every lesson to their learning style, goals and confidence level. Having recently completed high school and university myself, I understand the challenges students face and know how to explain difficult concepts in a simple, approachable way. I am extremely patient and believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement and teaching approach. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence. My Teaching Style My lessons are interactive, structured and focused on building genuine understanding rather than memorisation. I break complex topics into manageable steps, use worked examples, visual explanations and guided practice, then gradually encourage students to solve problems independently. I adapt my pace to each student, provide regular feedback and reinforce learning with exam-style questions, revision strategies and practical problem-solving techniques. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop confidence, critical thinking and strong mathematical reasoning skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.
