Learn beginner acoustic and fingerstyle guitar with me to understand the elements of a fingerstyle arrangement and make your guitar sing!

I am a passionate guitarist of 10+ years who enjoys seeing beginners grow more enthusiastic about the skills they grasp as they progress to new lessons with me. I was was introduced to classical guitar fundamentals through structured courses as a teenager, and from there I developed a profound interest in learning fingerstyle guitar, or 'making the guitar sing', or as friends and family like to call it, a 'one woman band.' Since then I have delved into self-study material that led to hours of focused practice and dedication to perfecting every fingerstyle piece I played. The reactions I got from peers around me when I would serenade them peaked their interest in learning to play like I could, and this is what initially drove my love to teach guitar. My guitar playing style is a more challenging type as it includes alot of accessory elements like percussion of the fingerpicking hand, playing bass alongside the melody, arpeggio chords and other core fingerstyle techniques, understanding all fretboard positions, etc, so teaching it definitely requires a tailored approach that entails breaking down a song segment by segment based on the parts of the song and the skills and theory involved with each section. My teaching style revolves around using different fun, catchy, and popular songs that introduce different guitar playing techniques as a way to keep students engaged, motivated, and eager to practice. At the end of the day, you are learning the guitar because you want to play music, so guitar theory is not an area I place emphasis on in my teaching. I would rather students enjoy the journey to the end goal, with the goal being playing the songs they love and playing them well!
