Grow your musicianship with a veteran music teacher through multimodal teaching approaches

My name is Anna Chandler, and I'm a veteran elementary music teacher with over 10 years of music teaching experience. I currently teach K-5 elementary music in Nashville, TN. I am a classically trained vocalist, pianist, and trumpet player and I started my musical journey 30 years ago! I have performed in a variety of musical settings and ensembles, using trumpet, piano and voice. I specialize in music theory, believing that a strong, working knowledge of music theory will encourage and foster a solid foundation for piano skills. Within music theory, I teach skills such as rhythm, notation, ear training, and chord knowledge, in addition to other components of music theory. I also focus on scales, arpeggios, and chords so that students are able to feel comfortable playing in all key signatures. In addition to teaching music theory, I'm knowledgeable about a variety of musical genres, as I have experience singing and playing in genres such as baroque, classical, romantic, jazz, pop, and world. Whether you're a beginner student, or looking to advance your current piano skills, I am prepared to guide and teach you so that you can grow your musicianship to your desired level.
