Brad Dean - Your piano teacher
I started teaching piano lessons in 1987 with The Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music and then began to teach privately in my own studio. I have a Bachelor's Degree is Music History and Psychology, and also studied to complete classical training from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. I can tailor lessons to the student to encourage their strengths and get a good handle on the basics with simple exercises and practice techniques to be done at home. My goal is to make the experience fun and rewarding and have my students be able to start playing their favourite music as soon as possible! I can teach a chord approach, sight reading, and keyboard skills to get the basics covered and also learning how to play by ear and improvise. I work as Piano Bar Entertainer in Toronto and also worked on cruise ships for over 2 decades so I know a wide variety of songs and genres. I teach on my grand piano or my digital keyboard in my home studio in the Toronto Beaches. I am compassionate and patient with my teaching style and offer a unique perspective as a professional performer to unlock your full potential at the piano! All that being said, my hope is that you learn to love playing music as much as I do! Whether you want to perform solo, or jam with other musicians, or just play to make yourself happy I can help you with that journey!

The Tutor also introduced basic note reading on the staff and discussed finding a suitable piano instruction book or supplemental pages for future study.
