The Student and Tutor commenced an introductory session focused on preparing for the Algebra 2 Regents exam. They reviewed fundamental algebraic concepts including index rules, simplifying expressions by combining like terms, expanding brackets, and factorization. The Tutor outlined a plan to tailor future lessons to the Student's specific weaker areas once they officially enroll.

Student and Tutor worked through a series of problems involving the division of fractions and mixed numbers, practicing the sequential steps including conversion, flipping, multiplication, and simplification. They then started on multiplication of mixed numbers, going over the steps and solving initial examples. As a follow-up, the Student was asked to write down the steps for multiplying fractions and continue practicing the remaining problems for the next lesson.
