Ayanfe - Get to know your vocal coach
Hello, my name is Ayanfe Olayinka. I am a singing tutor with almost 5 years of musical theatre training. I am currently a Theatre student at the University of Waterloo. My lessons cover a wide range of subjects, including singing, vocal health, technique, and strengthening. My abilities include pitch training, harmonies, vocal agility, and improvisation. I create learning experiences focusing on melody, pitch, and rhythm to help beginners grasp concepts better. I put a strong emphasis on prioritizing vocal health and wellness. I believe it is better to sing a lower but healthier note than a higher note that causes damage. I also teach the importance of cross-learning vocal music with an instrument like the piano or the guitar as a good way to ear train and gain comfort with sheet music and sight reading. Finally, I would also focus on the effects of physical health on the voice. I would recommend exercises, stretches, foods, and drinks that aid in vocal health and improve overall vocal quality, and I would show what things could be damaging to the vocal cords. Whether you're just starting or looking to improve, I tailor lessons to your needs. Embark on this musical journey with me and discover the joy of singing.
