Manushi - Know your tutor

I’m Manushi Sharma, a passionate and dedicated Math tutor specializing in SAT Math, IB, IGCSE, GCSE, and middle school mathematics. I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, patience, and learning approach. My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and student-centered, where I focus on making mathematical concepts simple and easy to understand. Instead of memorization, I encourage students to understand the logic behind each concept and develop strong problem-solving skills. I personalize lessons according to each student’s learning pace, strengths, and areas that need improvement. I help students with exam preparation, mock tests, assignments, homework support, and confidence building. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become independent and confident learners. I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in class. I also engage students with interesting games and real time activities which they can relate the concepts to real life applications and make math easier for them. I cater each and every type of kid who is in need of knowledge.

Mathematics concepts taught by Manushi

Student learned 13 days ago

The Tutor and Student worked on calculus concepts, specifically calculating the average value of functions using integration. They covered the core formula, applied it to various problems including exponential functions in finance, and discussed the geometric interpretation. They also practiced solving problems involving moving averages and functional relationships from tables.

The session focused on calculating the area under and between curves using definite integration. The Student practiced finding intersection points, graphically interpreting bounded regions, and applying integration rules to linear, quadratic, and trigonometric functions. The Tutor assigned five practice integration problems for homework to reinforce calculation accuracy, especially with negative signs and constants, before the next session.

The Student and Tutor reviewed anti-derivatives, including the constant of integration and its determination using initial conditions. They also covered the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus for definite integrals and practiced calculating areas under curves. The session concluded with an introduction to finding the area between two curves by determining their intersection points, with plans to continue this topic in the next class.

The tutor and student reviewed several statistical concepts including p-values, confidence intervals, RMSE, and t-distributions. They practiced interpreting these concepts through example problems and discussed the principles of estimation and quantification. The session concluded with a review of confidence interval interpretation and preparation for upcoming exams.

The tutor and student covered statistical concepts including the Chi-squared test, variance, and an introduction to linear regression. They practiced calculating the Chi-squared statistic, degrees of freedom, variance, and worked through examples of linear regression equations. The tutor will send formula documents to the student for exam preparation.

The Tutor and Student worked on understanding linear regression, including coefficients, confidence intervals, and p-values to assess evidence strength. They practiced calculating predicted values and errors, and discussed hypothesis testing (one-tailed vs. two-tailed) and distribution shapes. The session aimed to prepare the Student for an upcoming exam.
