Chemistry professional want to help the young and curious minds to navigate chemistry

I am Betty Paulose, have been a chemistry tutor since 2019. I tutor online or meet students in person. I was a chemistry professor for Department of Chemistry, Dillard University, New Orleans from Fall of 2014 to Fall 2016. I taught introductory level chemistry courses [100 level] to senior level chemistry courses [400 level] from general chemistry to physical chemistry. I carry different techniques to make sure the students are actively engaged. I usually connect unknown topics with typical objects, many of my students enjoyed that. My students vary from non-science majors to chemistry majors. The broad range of my teaching experience has improved throughout the years. In my organic chemistry sessions, I used examples like paint thinners, nail polish removers and rubbing alcohol to make them remember molecules like toluene, acetone, propanol etc. I even told my group to go the nearest pharmacy and write down the ingredients of rubbing alcohol. For general chemistry students, I treated them like they were learning a new language but with electrons, protons and neutrons as the letters of the language. I don't hesitate to answer any questions students have regarding the subject and I always got good reviews from the students I taught.
