Violin concepts taught by Marina
The Student and Tutor practiced violin techniques, focusing on open string bowing with improved pressure and weight, and reviewed fundamental music theory, including sharps, flats, and naturals. They then applied these concepts to the piece "Believer," concentrating on correct bowing for different note durations and identifying notes and their positions on the violin. The Tutor advised the Student to utilize a tuner during personal practice for enhanced accuracy.

& Naturals)
The Student and Tutor practiced various violin techniques, including bow control through long notes and different bow sections, as well as refining violin holding posture. They reviewed music theory concepts by naming notes on the fingerboard and sight-read a new piece, focusing on note values, slurs, and key signatures. For homework, the Student will practice the new piece without pauses and film their progress, with the next session slated for a review of music theory.

They practiced bow control, dynamic range, and finger patterns on the violin, applying these skills to a song, and then transitioned to theory covering staff notation, clefs, note values, time signatures, and the structure of major scales. The Student's homework is to write out major scales on a staff using the whole/half step formula and correlate notes with violin fingerings.
