My teaching style for guitar is patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students enjoy the process of learning music. I like to adapt lessons to each student’s goals, whether they want to learn songs they love, improve technique, or understand music theory in a practical way. I focus on building confidence through simple, clear steps while keeping lessons fun and motivating. I also believe learning guitar should feel creative and rewarding, not stressful, so I aim to create a relaxed environment where students can grow at their own pace. I enjoy teaching in a way that connects music to real-life expression and creativity. Instead of only memorizing exercises, I encourage students to develop rhythm, ear training, and the ability to play confidently with feeling. Because I speak both English and Spanish and have experience learning languages and music myself, I understand the importance of patience and communication when learning something new. My goal is to help students not only become better guitar players, but also build a lifelong appreciation for music. Fun, patient guitar teacher focused on confidence, creativity, and real musical growth. I help students learn songs they love while building strong fundamentals step by step.

Guitar concepts taught by Eli
The Tutor and Student focused on learning and practicing various guitar chords, including D major, B minor (barre chord), G major, and A major. They also explored alternative power chord shapes for D major and D minor, and learned D minor, A minor, and E minor chords, discussing transitions and how chord shapes can be moved across the fretboard. For homework, the Student was tasked with practicing smooth transitions between chords for the songs "Dime" and "Iso Milo" while listening to the rhythm, and thinking about a guitar solo to learn.

The Student received an introductory guitar lesson, focusing on developing finger independence through specific exercises and learning the basic E minor chord. The Tutor also guided the Student on proper guitar posture and discussed the importance of daily practice. They planned to learn specific songs, starting with "From the Start," and assigned daily finger exercises as homework.

Advantages of a Nylon String Guitar
Student and Tutor focused on advanced guitar techniques, including breaking down bar chords into major triads and inversions on the top three strings, and using hammer-ons and pull-offs for embellishment. They then practiced intentional improvisation by landing on specific target tones (the minor and major thirds) within a chord progression for more purposeful solos, with homework assigned to practice these concepts on different strings.
