I am a guitarist who has played the guitar since i was 10 years old. I specialise in teaching beginners but can teach people of any level. I emphasise technique and understanding the instrument as well as assisting in learning songs and understanding aspects of music so you can understand anything you listen too. I am very good at approaching the lesson and finding what level my student is at so the learning process is not overwhelming and keeps the students engaged. I am friendly, patient and genuinely have an interest in teaching the guitar to keen students. I have played in a number of bands and studied live sound as a bachelors degree in the United Kingdom. My end goal is for my students to understand the instrument so they are not limited by anything so they can understand and be able to play any song that they hear, as well as all the correct approaches to that song. I also emphasise learning multiple genres to see how music fits into each one and how they relate to each other in order to achieve a more complete and rounded understanding of music as a whole. I emphasise ear training, left and right hand technique, scales and the CAGED system. With these things alone my students will achieve whatever their goal is with learning the guitar.
