I began working as a teacher's aid when I was 17 years old and that turned into a 30 year career in Paraguay, South America. I taught Kinder through 5th grade for the Paraguayan Government and also taught English and Spanish Language classes in Private Schools in Brazil and Paraguay where I also helped prepare students for their language exams. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Guarani and at an intermediate level in Portuguese. I'm continually trying to better myself so that I can pass along the knowledge to my students. I am currently getting certified as an ESL teacher here in Iowa and am also tutoring online reading classes in classrooms across the U.S. I'm looking to diversify my classes and obtain more hours for my weekly calendar. I enjoy teaching because I get to meet many different people and share their day with them, always striving to create a positive experience and thus have a positive outcome with each and every one of my students. During my free time I take care of the many animals on my farm and spend a lot of time with my grandson in sports and church activities.
