My name is Nia Brown and I am an artist and musician based in New York City. I am classically trained and have had experience playing concert halls and repetoire from the likes of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt, but am also well versed in jazz studies, having studied with Eric Scott Reed, Lenny White, Alan Broadbent, Manuel Valera, and many more great musicians. I’d love to share my knowledge and experience with you to start you on your musical journeys! Some of my teaching subjects include composition, improvisation, song writing and arranging, film scoring, performance techniques, sight reading, ear training, music history, and many more! I’m all about taking what you know and building from there to allow you to be the musician you envision yourself of being. I’ve taught all ages from age seven to students in their 20’s and 30’s - so it’s never too late! I’ve also taught students of all experience levels from very beginner to very technically advanced, so anyone can do it! I strive to create an atmosphere where every individuals feels empowered, valued, and excepted which is what music is all about - bringing the community together and being the change! I am so excited to work with you and can’t wait to start our musical journey!
