Learn pop and contemporary music and develop new skills from a current NYU vocal performance major!

Hi! I’m Mia Lewis! I’m a rising sophomore studying contemporary vocal performance at NYU, and I have a major passion for singing! I’ve train with 8 different voice coaches over my time, gaining different skills over the course of 12 years. Whether you want to review a song and figure out how to spice it up, learn a new song and perfect it, learn complicated riffs, or just practice vocalization, I’m the girl for you! I have both pop and musical theater training, so I am open to training both music styles. My teaching is tailored towards kids, adults, beginners, intermediates, and advanced individuals. I believe anyone can sing, it’s just a matter of proper resonance, placement, and technique. It can seem very overwhelming to train your voice, but the goal of training is to make singing easier, the idea is you want it to be more effortless and less taxing on your vocal cords and larynx, creating something sustainable. Growing up, I had the issues of using too much power, straining and pushing too hard, which got me somewhere, but not to where I wanted to be, and a lot has to do with puberty, as the voice changes drastically while one experiences changes, so don’t beat yourself up if you’re a young singer!
