VATSAL - Know your tutor
I have been passionate about teaching from a young age and believe I possess the qualities of a good teacher, such as strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts with ease. I completed my BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics, MSc in Data Science, and later earned an International Vedic Maths Trainer certificate. With over four years of tutoring experience, I have taught nearly 100 students and received excellent feedback. I also hold an MSc in Mathematics and continue to tutor high school and university students. My teaching focuses on simplifying concepts, encouraging problem-solving, and inspiring students to enjoy mathematics. I adapt my methods to individual learning needs and aim to build confidence along with strong conceptual foundations, helping learners achieve their full potential. Class overview
I offer tutoring sessions on Math to high school and university graduates. My tutoring sessions are generally detailed and tailored to the needs of the students. Apart from tutoring, I also help my students with their assignments, homework, and test preparation. I always take regular feedback from my students and parents and also give my feedback on the students’ performance, so that the tutoring sessions are effective for the learner. I focus on building conceptual clarity, encouraging problem-solving, and making mathematics enjoyable through real-life examples and Vedic Math techniques. I also adapt my methods to different learning styles and ensure that every student feels confident, motivated, and supported in their learning journey. I encourage curiosity and creative thinking in every session. My goal is to make students confident problem solvers and inspire a love for math and lifelong learning in my students.

Mathematics concepts taught by VATSAL
The tutor and student reviewed exponential and logarithmic functions, practicing various rules and solving problems to reinforce understanding. They worked through exercises from basic evaluation to solving equations and discussed common mistakes, with a plan to complete remaining practice problems for the next session.
Solving Exponential Equations
Laws of Logarithms
Laws of Exponents
Exponential and Logarithmic Relationship
The tutor and student reviewed the concept of the unit circle in trigonometry, explaining its definition, coordinates, and relationship to sine and cosine functions. They identified key angles and their positions on the circle, and discussed potential real-life applications for a student's project. The session concluded with a plan to list upcoming topics for a practice worksheet.
Special Angles in the First Quadrant
Coordinates of Key Angles on the Unit Circle
Unit Circle and Trigonometric Functions
The Unit Circle Definition
The Tutor and Student practiced solving triangle problems, focusing on calculating the area using the sine rule and cosine law. They worked through examples where two angles and one side were given, and where all three sides were provided. The session concluded with plans for further practice to solidify the identification of appropriate formulas.
Sine Rule Application
Cosine Rule Application
Calculating Triangle Area
Height Calculation in Triangles
The Tutor and Student practiced calculating the area of triangles using trigonometric ratios, the sine law, and the cosine law. They worked through problems involving different given parameters and discussed methods for finding heights and unknown angles to solve for the area, with a focus on applying these concepts effectively.
Area of a Triangle with Two Sides and Included Angle
Using Trigonometric Ratios to Find Height
Sine Rule for Finding Unknown Angles/Sides
Combining Trigonometric Laws and Angle Sum Property
The Tutor and Student worked on calculating the area of non-right-angled triangles. They practiced applying the sine rule and cosine law, along with basic trigonometric ratios, to find missing sides and the height of triangles. The session concluded with the student planning to practice similar problems independently.
Area of Non-Right Triangles using Trigonometry
Sine Law vs. Cosine Law
Direct Area Formula for Triangles
Basic Trigonometric Ratios (SOH CAH TOA)
The tutor and student reviewed and solved complex mortgage calculation problems, including loan amortization, interest rate conversions between compounding and payment frequencies, and property valuation using capitalization. The student practiced applying financial calculator functions and formulas to these scenarios, with a focus on understanding the methodology behind each step. They planned to continue practicing similar problems to reinforce understanding.
