VATSAL - Know your tutor
I have been passionate about teaching from a young age and believe I possess the qualities of a good teacher, such as strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts with ease. I completed my BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics, MSc in Data Science, and later earned an International Vedic Maths Trainer certificate. With over four years of tutoring experience, I have taught nearly 100 students and received excellent feedback. I also hold an MSc in Mathematics and continue to tutor high school and university students. My teaching focuses on simplifying concepts, encouraging problem-solving, and inspiring students to enjoy mathematics. I adapt my methods to individual learning needs and aim to build confidence along with strong conceptual foundations, helping learners achieve their full potential. I aim to build confidence along with strong conceptual foundations, helping learners achieve their full potential. Math is my passion.

Class overview
I offer tutoring sessions on Math to high school and university graduates. My tutoring sessions are generally detailed and tailored to the needs of the students. Apart from tutoring, I also help my students with their assignments, homework, and test preparation. I always take regular feedback from my students and parents and also give my feedback on the students’ performance, so that the tutoring sessions are effective for the learner. I focus on building conceptual clarity, encouraging problem-solving, and making mathematics enjoyable through real-life examples and Vedic Math techniques. I also adapt my methods to different learning styles and ensure that every student feels confident, motivated, and supported in their learning journey. I encourage curiosity and creative thinking in every session. My goal is to make students confident problem solvers and inspire a love for math and lifelong learning in my students.

Mathematics concepts taught by VATSAL
The student and tutor reviewed the basic trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, tangent) and their definitions in right-angled triangles. They practiced calculating these ratios using given side lengths and the Pythagorean theorem, as well as finding all ratios when one was provided. The reciprocal trigonometric functions were also introduced.
Reciprocal Trigonometric Ratios
Using Trigonometric Ratios with Given Ratios
Pythagorean Theorem in Trigonometry
Right Triangle Trigonometry Basics
The student and tutor worked on translating word problems into algebraic equations and solving them. They practiced forming equations from various scenarios and applying algebraic techniques to find the unknown variable. The next session will involve practicing problems that require setting up and solving systems of two linear equations.
Setting Up Algebraic Equations from Word Problems
Solving Linear Equations
Properties of Isosceles Triangles
Formulating Equations from Geometric Scenarios
The student and tutor worked through various problems involving arithmetic and geometric sequences. They practiced identifying sequence types, finding general and recursive rules, and writing summation notation. The session also included solving for sequence rules when two terms were provided, reinforcing algebraic methods for solving systems of equations.
Arithmetic Sequences
Geometric Sequences
Finding Terms using Two Given Terms
Summation Notation
The tutor and student reviewed recursive and explicit formulas for arithmetic and geometric sequences, including how to identify common differences and ratios. They practiced writing general and recursive rules, and the student was tasked with applying these concepts to find the next terms in given sequences for homework.
Summation Notation (Sigma Notation)
Recursive Rules for Sequences
Explicit Formulas for Geometric Sequences
The tutor and student reviewed arithmetic and geometric sequences, focusing on identifying their properties, deriving explicit and recursive formulas, and applying these concepts to model situations like compound interest. The student practiced solving problems involving these sequences, including finding specific terms.
Geometric Sequences
Recursive vs. Explicit Formulas
Sequences in Modeling
Arithmetic Sequences
The student and tutor worked through SOH CAH TOA problems to find unknown sides and angles in right-angled triangles. They practiced identifying the correct trigonometric ratios, using calculators for degree measurements, and applying inverse trigonometric functions. The tutor assigned practice questions on the same topic to be completed independently.
