Christopher - Know your guitar teacher

I am Christopher Torres and I am a professional guitar player and educator. I studied at Berklee college of music and I am very passionate about music and teaching. My main area of study and interest is in jazz but I love all styles of music and play them all frequently as an active working musician. Although I am a performer, teaching is a tremendous passion of mine at every level. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player looking for inspiration or maybe trying something new, my personalize lessons for each of these players will surely help you reach that goal. My biggest focus with my students is to learn fundamental concepts in the most comprehensive way possible so that we don’t have to take steps back to take steps forward. So things like fretboard knowledge, chord and scale spellings, triads, and all things theory are a major part of my teaching. We can learn how to read notation and even notate ourselves. We can learn how function as a good bandmate in an ensemble and get you prepared for any gig! Technical aspects like picking techniques and playing rhythms are very important to me also. In addition, I do offer beginner and intermediate level bass teaching. Looking forward to reaching whatever musical goal you have together!
