Martins - Get to know your vocal coach
I have developed a wide range of teaching experience in music since 2015, working with students across different levels, including beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced vocalists. My teaching focuses on vocal training, covering essential techniques such as breath control, pitch accuracy, tone production, vocal expression, and the reading of tonic solfa notation. As a practicing Catholic and music director, I have remained actively involved in music education, particularly within church and choral settings. This role has allowed me to lead choirs, organize structured rehearsals, and guide singers toward both technical improvement and expressive performance. In addition, my participation in various choral groups has further strengthened my musical knowledge, teamwork, and teaching abilities. Working with diverse learners has helped me become more adaptable and patient, as I tailor my teaching methods to suit individual needs and learning styles. Overall, my experience has been both engaging and rewarding, allowing me to continuously refine my skills, deepen my understanding of music education, and grow as a committed and effective music educator.

The Tutor and Student conducted a vocal assessment focusing on the Student's high notes and overall vocal polish. They identified that issues with high notes were primarily due to going off-key during modulations, rather than an inability to hit the notes, and emphasized the importance of acute hearing and pitch recognition. The Tutor also introduced proper diaphragmatic breathing techniques and assigned practice exercises for breath control.
