Rany Purwade Putrie Your chemistry tutor

I’m a professional Chemistry educator with over 6 years of teaching experience at both formal schools and online settings. I'm dedicated to making science both simple and exciting. Currently, I'm based in Thailand, where I teach at a leading bilingual school as their foreign Chemistry and General Science Teacher - with Cambridge curriculum. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education and a permanent teaching license from my home country, Indonesia. I specialize in the IGCSE, AS/A Level and IB curricula, which means I know exactly what examiners are looking for. In my classroom, we don't just memorize formulas, we visualize them. I love using digital tools and drawings to model 3D molecular structures live, making the invisible world of atoms visible for the students. I'm great with abstract fundamental Chemistry concepts such as stoichiometry, down to the complexities of Organic Chemistry. My lessons are interactive, patient, and entirely centered on the students' learning style. I’ve helped dozens of students turn their 'Chemistry frustration' into 'Chemistry confidence', and I can't wait to do the same with the students here. Let's create a formula to success in Chemistry together!

The Tutor and Student reviewed definitions of acids and bases according to Arrhenius and Brønsted-Lowry theories, including concepts like conjugate acid-base pairs and acid/base strength. They practiced identifying stronger acids and bases and discussed the relationship between acid strength and conjugate base strength. The session concluded with an introduction to the pH scale, the dissociation constant (Kw), and how to determine if a solution is acidic, basic, or neutral.
