Hello, my name is Hannah Riegel. I have been teaching piano for 6 years now - I have taught students from all age ranges from 3 years old to 50+ years old and from levels beginner to late intermediate. I specialize in teaching hand placement, music theory, sight reading, building performance techniques and repertoire, and also allowing my students to play songs they enjoy. Regularly, I train my students with ear training exercises; and sometimes at the end of a lesson, I allot a few minutes for improvisation that the student and I can do together or they can do by themselves to expand their comfort zone. I typically use the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures curriculum for my students. If they are younger, I start them on the Primer Level; but if they are older and have any music experience, I will start them on the Accelerated Beginner Level. The majority of my students, I have started between the ages of 7-8 years of age, but I have a taught plenty adults as well, and I enjoy teaching all ages. I love all my students, and I put my heart and soul into teaching each one. Music is my passion, and it is such a joy to me to help bring music into people's lives.
