With two decades of experience as a gigging musician and theatre director, I am Matthew Clare, your go-to piano tutor for personalised lessons. I specialise in all aspects of music and am a proficient pianist, brass player, musical director, vocalist, arranger and orchestrator, and composer. For all your needs, from jazz to rock to classical, I am here to help you on your musical journey. I have over a decade of tutoring experience and have run choirs, theatre companies, and instrumental ensembles as a director and musical director for about fifteen years. My most recent projects are The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Parade for which I was the musical director and pianist for each. I have a particular passion for theatre music but am also a very competent dep musician and function player, so my sight-reading skills are still up to par. My classical loves lie with Chopin and a lot of Russian composers (Prokofiev, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchiakovsky, Shostakovich, and Rachmaninov). I am an aspiring composer as well with my compositional styles being in line with the Romantic period composers for orchestras.
