Encouraging math tutor with 4 years of experience working with kindergarten through twelfth grade students

Hello I'm Maisha. I have 6 years of experience in the field of education; I have tutored math for 4 years and worked in administration for equity-focused education organizations. I started tutoring in my neighborhood and grew my client base through word of mouth. Since then, I have worked as a remote tutor serving K-12 students all over the country. Working with such a wide audience has allowed me to learn how to personalize lessons to the different needs of each student. Additionally, I learned to deliver engaging and effective lessons that guarantee students leave with a better understanding of class material. I have experience tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students and can provide support for classes up to college level calculus. I have received As in all of my math classes and attained a perfect score on the math SAT. I especially enjoy helping students build confidence in their selves and their ability to direct their own learning, as I find that this is a crucial piece in student success. I will be beginning my Masters in Education with a specialty in secondary math starting this summer. As part of my program, I will also be working as a teacher.
