I am Val’Jasheen Whaley, 20 years old and have a bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in music. I have tutored a few different instruments guitar being my most common avenue. For a couple of years helping other develop a baseline in instrumentation skills and learning has been a passion of mine. Having the opportunity to help others grow into the musician they dream to be puts a smile on my face everyday. My goal is to help others learn the theory of music and be able to apply that knowledge to reading sheet music, tabs, chord notation, and develop into many styles of music playing. Although a classical musician I enjoy stepping out into the realm of other genres and connect with each person I work with. One motto I stand by is if you want something chase the dream until it’s tired of running! While working during these lessons I would want the goal to be having no only comfortability to span upon the knowledge of an instrument but to also carry that knowledge into becoming a unique musician. The beginner stages can be the hardest for some individuals and I am here to make that starting path a bit easier. From exercises to repertoire in musicial instrumentation the journey starts with picking up the instrument.
