Yulina - Your piano teacher
I’m Yulina wong! I’m a Bachelors-educated piano tutor, who is eager to teach not only young kids, but adults who have discovered new hobbies to add to their life. I started studying classical piano when i was 4 years old. I stopped my training when i was 17 years old, because I realized my passion was more towards piano improvisation and jazz. Since 17, I have studied jazz piano, as well as gone to university for composition, improvisation, and freeform piano. Although, I have a very solid foundation in classical piano as well, I can also provide students with knowledge based more on the creative aspects of playing as well—which would be the improvsation and creative writing style. I have over 2 years of experiece teaching, mostly teaching children and young adults. I offered them technical skills, but also in a manner that would make learning piano fun. I know from experience that practicing a new skill can be stressful. But no worries! I can help you improve step by step. My lessons will be tailored to your needs, whether that would be focusing on music theory, piano repertoire, rhythm or ear training, improvisation, or even basic composition. Either way, I look forward to teaching and having fun together!

The tutor and student reviewed major and minor scales, focusing on C major, F sharp harmonic and melodic minor, and introducing E major and C sharp minor. They then practiced Hannon exercise number two with rhythmic variations to improve finger mobility and strength. Finally, they worked on specific sections of a musical piece, refining fingering, tempo, and note duration.
