Momo - Your piano teacher

Hi there, I'm Mo and I've been playing piano for over 17 years. I have been teaching for over 5 years now and I previously taught for the Merlin Academy of Music in North Berwick. During these 17 years I have grown a passion for playing and learning to perform songs I love, and I thoroughly enjoy instilling this passion in others. I am happy to help you whether your wanting to go up the grades, or if you just want to casually learn songs you like. I can teach any age range and of all capabilities with the piano. Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching for nearly 6 years now and I taught at the Merlin Academy of music in North Berwick. I have taught beginning kids from the ages of 6 upwards, adults wanting to learn songs, experienced players wanting to get their next grade and many more people wanting to learn the piano. I am Grade 6 ABRSM qualified and I am PVG registered. Tutoring Approach: From the wide variety of people I've taught, I know teaching a syllabus or a similar routine for everyone doesn't work. I am good at adapting my teaching style to best suit the individual. I play all different kinds of genres, including: Classical, Pop (Coldplay being a favourite), Contemporary, Jazz ... I am skilled in writing sheet music so if I can't find sheet music of a song someone wants of an appropriate level, I often write it myself to the complexity that best suits the student. Whatever level you are and whatever age don't hesitate to contact me if your interested!

The tutor introduced mnemonic devices, "Every Good Boy Deserves Football" and "FACE," to help the student identify and name notes in the treble clef. The student practiced distinguishing between line and space notes and applying the correct mnemonic to determine the letter name of musical notes.
