Jannette - Your piano teacher
My name is Jannette Felicia, and I am an experienced piano tutor with over five years of teaching experience, having guided more than 100 students on their musical journeys. I specialize in Classical Piano and Music Theory, with a strong track record of students achieving high distinctions in ABRSM examinations and winning prizes in competitions. I am passionate about delivering tailored piano lessons for students of all ages and levels — from young beginners to adult learners, and from foundational training to advanced performance. My teaching philosophy centres on building confidence, musical passion, and a genuine love for music. I believe that when students develop a solid technical foundation alongside musical understanding and imagination, no challenge is unachievable. I will guide you step by step in mastering scales, arpeggios, chords, sight-reading, finger technique, effective practice methods, pedalling, musical expression, and imagination. With consistent guidance and dedication, you will become a well-rounded pianist, capable of performing with confidence, musical depth, and joy.

Piano lessons at a glance
My teaching methodology focuses on building a strong and reliable foundation that supports confident and expressive piano playing. Lessons begin with developing a relaxed and healthy hand position, alongside sight-reading, music theory, and a clear understanding of scales and arpeggios. These fundamentals form the basis of secure technique and musical fluency. I then guide students towards effective and structured practice methods, helping them understand how to practise efficiently, overcome technical challenges, and allow the music to flow naturally. Musicality is introduced from the early stages, with attention to tone production, phrasing, pedalling, and imagination. Each lesson is carefully tailored to the individual, supporting different learning styles and goals, whether for examinations, performances, or personal enjoyment. My aim is to help students develop confidence, independence, and a lasting love for music.
