Rebekah - Know your guitar teacher

My name is Rebekah Akers, I have been playing for 6 years, and sharing my knowledge for over 3. I specialize in chord progressions and strumming, to learn this we will go over songs you want to learn, as well as possibly making songs of your own from scratch, and a little music theory! Acoustic, electric, even bass, from beginner to intermediate, the lesson will be tailored for your learning style, speed, and your skill and experience, plus the vibe of music you want to start creating. I believe learning should feel inspiring, not intimidating. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to level up your sound, we’ll build confidence step by step. I focus on helping you actually understand what you’re playing so you can improvise, write, and express yourself freely — not just memorize shapes. Cant wait to start strumming with you:)!

Guitar lessons quick guide

My teaching approach blends strong musical fundamentals with an understanding of music as frequency, vibration, and emotional energy. I believe sound is more than notes — it’s intention, resonance, and communication. Along with building skills in rhythm, chord progressions, strumming, and technique, I guide students to connect with the feeling behind what they play. Lessons are personalized to your learning style, pace, and creative goals, balancing structure with intuition. My goal is to help you not just play music, but express yourself fully, build confidence, and align with your own unique sound and frequency. I also encourage creativity through improvisation and songwriting exercises that help you trust your instincts. Music is a tool for grounding, healing, and self-discovery, and I create a supportive space where you feel safe to explore, experiment, and grow at your own pace.
