Discover Your True Voice – Personalized Vocal Training for Every Singer From Breath to Stage: Build Your Voice, Build Your Repertoire

I am a dedicated and experienced voice and vocal teacher. For over 20 years, I have taught breathing and vocal techniques both in church settings and through private lessons. Over the past six months, I have also taught voice production, breathing, and singing techniques online. Rather than insisting on only one method, I focus on identifying and applying the techniques that best suit each individual student. Although I majored in classical vocal performance, I am well-equipped to teach a variety of musical styles. I hope that through music, my time with students will not only be about teaching what I know, but also about sharing and learning many things together from one another. Music is not like math, where 1 + 1 always equals 2. In music, 1 + 1 can lead to many different answers. Therefore, it does not end with what I already know; rather, I believe that when we make music together, our musical depth will grow even deeper.

First, I will teach the fundamentals of vocal technique and breathing. If students have specific songs they would like to learn, I plan to center the lessons around those selections. Since I majored in classical vocal performance, I am fully prepared to teach classical repertoire if that is what a student desires. However, I believe the most important thing is learning the music and songs that students truly want to sing, as this makes the process more enjoyable and effective. There are many books and resources available, but rather than simply ending with teaching and learning, I believe it is important to build a personal repertoire that can be performed on any stage. I value open communication with my students, and if a student wishes to learn a song that I am not yet familiar with, I am committed to studying and researching it myself in order to teach it effectively.
