Hello! I have been playing guitar and producing music for a decade, I have a professional background in education, working with ages 7 and up! I love to motivate people and help them find their talents. I have the personal belief that anybody can be talented- it is a matter of perseverance. :) My focus is understanding what my student is aiming to get from their learning, and helping them understand what they could improve on, as well as what they excel at. My lessons are tailored to your needs and we can approach them at whatever pace is most comfortable for you. I am available most days in PST time, and can work around other peoples schedules. I like to see where students are at in their journey, and hear about their musical interests and inspirations. This way I can build a lesson plan specifically for them, designed to work at a pace they are comfortable with. While I think theory and basic technique are crucial, my biggest priority is making playing guitar a hobby students want to come back to- I try my best to make practice as fun as possible while still incorporating the underlying fundamentals. Generally I like students to show me a handful of songs they enjoy or want to be able to play, and we can shape the tone of our lessons around them- analyzing them and understanding what techniques, tone, and energy make the song what it is. Once we have made some progress, we can look back at what we've learned and improved on, and set goals for what more we'd like to learn :)
