Veronica - Get to know your vocal coach
My name is Veronica Romee and I began teaching private voice lessons over 11 years ago. In that time I have taught varying ages from as young as two years old to as old as 65 years old. I am a firm believer that anyone can learn to sing regardless of age or skill level. In the time I've spent teaching I've learned to create lesson plans for each individual student's needs, successfully prepared students for auditions and strengthened my students' musicality. I utilize an approach that combines music theory, aural skills and physical engagement to fully comprehend voice as an intsurment. Before I began teaching I spent five years as the soprano section leader of the Naples Opera House giving me real world performance and audition experience to pass onto my students. I specialize in classical, pop, blues, country, theater, movie and rap style vocals. I love watching my students improve and surpass benchmarks I set for them. If you're interested in a vocal teacher with experience as a performer and teacher, whose main goals are to strengthen her students musicality skills and watch them surpass their expectations, then I just might be the teacher for you. Sign up today to begin your guided journey though a world of music where every voice is heard.

Singing lessons highlights
I begin every voice lesson with a small portion of basic music theory, aural skills and vocal warm ups. Once we are warmed up we focus on a particular piece (chosen by the student) and applicable techniques. These techniques will help strengthen students' musicality and can include more advanced music theory and aural skills, sight singing, breath support, breath control, pitch identification, pitch matching, pattern recognition, audition etiquette, identifying and switching between vocal registers, visualization techniques, realistic and sustainable practice methods, effective communication and listening skills, muscle engagement, internalizing rhythm, beat identification and subdivision, entrance anticipation, vowel modification, articulation, breath connectivity, projection, diction and emotional connectivity to the lyrics. No two lessons are exactly the same because no two people or voices are exactly the same. I use a variety of technological tools including functional ear trainer, perfect ear, skype and zoom to make my lessons accessible and engaging. My strength lies in my commitment to making custom tailored lessons for each of my students and ensuring every student retains their love of music while simultaneously enhancing their skills.

Singing concepts taught by Veronica
The Student and Tutor worked on vocal technique, focusing on breath support, engaging the epiglottis for guttural sounds, and creating vertical space to navigate vocal breaks. They practiced extending the Student's upper range into the whistle voice and applied these skills to the song "1776." The Tutor recommended practicing in front of a mirror with exaggerated movements, consistent diaphragmatic punching, and specific neck stretches to alleviate tension.
