Structured & Supportive Piano Lessons | Build Strong Foundations, Expressive Playing & Exam Success

I have both in-person and online experience teaching piano to students of different ages and skill levels. I previously taught at Leafs Music School (January 2024 – January 2025), where I worked one-on-one with beginner to intermediate students, helping them build a strong technical foundation, proper hand posture, sight-reading skills, and musical expression. I hold RCM Level 8 Piano and Level 8 Theory certification, which allows me to confidently teach both practical performance skills and music theory. In my lessons, I focus on developing solid fundamentals—scales, arpeggios, rhythm accuracy, and technique—while also encouraging musicality and confidence in performance. I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals, whether they are preparing for RCM exams, learning for personal enjoyment, or building performance skills. I emphasize patience, clear communication, and creating a positive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported. My goal as a teacher is not only to help students improve technically, but to cultivate discipline, creativity, and a genuine love for music.

Technical work such as scales, arpeggios, and exercises is integrated consistently to build control and fluency. Lessons are carefully tailored to each student’s age, level, and goals, whether preparing for RCM exams, competitions, performances, or learning for enjoyment. I integrate music theory directly into repertoire so students understand phrasing, harmony, form, and musical expression rather than simply playing notes. Each lesson includes review, guided practice, new material, sight-reading, and clear weekly goals. I emphasize positive reinforcement, specific feedback, and effective practice strategies to help students become confident, independent musicians with discipline and a lifelong love of music.
