Experience engaging piano lessons, with a focus on musical expression and technique.

My hame is Lewis Jordan, and I have been teaching piano since the begining of 2022, having a wide range of students. I have had lots of experience with students, and have always gotten the best out of them. I have taught majority beginner students, with some moving onto their graded exams (with a 100% pass rate). With my students, I focus heavily on musicianship, technique from early on, and understanding music theory from day 1. I introduce all these early so that students can learn as they go, and do not get stuck much later on. I also introduce all of these concepts in an engaging manner to not bore or discourage. All my students have always enjoyed coming to me for lessons, as I keep a light atmosphere that still gets the results I know my students can achieve. I offer one to one piano lessons that focus on music theory, musicianship and basic piano technique. My aim is to get the most out of everything we will play, and to understand what the music is doing and why it is doing it. In my experience, this has allowed students to more heavily engage with what they are playing, and quickly expanded my students abilities. I can teach most styles, however I am specialised in classical piano repertoire and technique. Subjects such as classical harmony, fingerings and pedalling are all things I would cover in both a theoretical and practical aspect in order to keep students engaged with what they are learning. My aim is to allow my students to foster the same love I have for the piano and love the learning process that I myself have loved so much. My approach to teaching, from my two years of experience, has proven that this does work, and students do enjoy it.
