Cassandra - Your piano teacher

I'm Cassandra Liburd, a young pianist with lots of passion for music! I have been playing piano for 11 years and currently play at RCM level 6. I am great and explaining things and working with children. I have experience working with children as a camp counselor. I have a warm and kind personality. I can easily teach beginner pianists and have the patience to do so. I have many skills such as ability to teach ear training scales, and repertoire from entry level to level 3 RCM. I can give advice on how to improve pieces and help students develop a musical ear. Im school, I also started a keyboard club called the keynote collective, in which students were able to show their passion for keyboard, or learn how to play piano from me and the other president, if they were just starting out. I am very passionate about piano and would love to teach others how to play!

Piano lessons at a glance

My teaching style is focused on being empathetic, patient, and building musicality. I think it is very important to learn techniques such as sight reading, theory, and proper hand position. With these skills, students can then start to add musicality and passion in their playing, which I think is a beautiful thing. I help others practice by focusing on specific areas they are struggling with, which are the most important parts to practice, however I also believe in taking breaks and focusing on easier pieces when things get too exhausting. I can work with 1-3 students at a time. I am also good at working with kids that have learning disabilities. Students can also choose to learn songs that they are passionate about (i.e if they want to play music from a movie they like), once they have built a proper foundation. Overall, I have a very beginner friendly attitude, and I love helping others learn new things, and sharing my knowledge!
