Jina - Violin teacher

I grew up playing piano and violin, while also being in orchestra. With over two years of experience teaching violin online and in-person, I offer personalized lessons designed around each student’s needs and goals. I help students of all levels build strong technique through bow control, proper posture, finger placement, scales, rhythm practice, ear training, and sight-reading. I provide extra notes for further practice if needed. However, as a coach if the student has their own notes, that will be the priority of the practice session. My lessons are supportive, clear, and encouraging, so you can progress at a pace that feels right for you and have fun doing so with no pressure on the notes or the music. I like incorporating songs as extra practice and something fun for the students to keep the flow of practicing and enjoying, that way they have fun and get better in skills/quick sight readings. Whether you’re a beginner or developing your skills, I’m here to help you enjoy the learning process and grow as a musician. This is about the student having fun while learning because that is how they will grow. I am excited to work with each student and see their progress and improvement through music!

Violin lessons overview

My teaching methodology is centered around creating a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning experience for every student. I believe that each learner progresses at their own pace, so I adapt my lessons based on individual goals, learning styles, and current skill level. Lessons are structured but flexible, combining clear technical guidance with practical musical application. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as proper posture, relaxed bow control, accurate finger placement, rhythm, and intonation, while gradually introducing music theory and ear training in a simple, easy-to-understand way. I encourage students to play music they enjoy to keep motivation high, while also working on essential exercises, scales, and sight-reading to develop long-term skills. I provide clear feedback, demonstrations, and step-by-step guidance, and I create a comfortable space where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to help students build strong technique, musical understanding, and confidence while enjoying the learning process.
