Lucy - Get to know your vocal coach
I have been a singer and dancer since the age of 3. I competed in many comps overs the years as a child and then went onto performing arts college. I had a very sucessful professional career in many shows touring the world. After yeata of pro work i then went into teaching sining, dance and drama. I have a vast amount of experience teaching all ages of children and adults. I also have alot of experience working in SEN. I am extremley patient, encouraging and always strive for the very best when it vomes tp teaching students. I work on confidence, ability and technoque. I truly believe that anyone can sing if they put their mind to it and believe in themselves. To be able to sing natually is an incredible gift but with hard work and dedication anyone can hold a tune. For the more advanced students, main focus is on diction, clarity and breathing techniques with projection and performance.

Singing lessons highlights
My singing lesson methodology is built on the belief that every voice is unique and that effective vocal training must balance healthy technique, artistic expression, and personal confidence, rather than forcing all singers into a single rigid system. At the core of my approach is vocal health, because a voice that is free from strain and fatigue is capable of lasting growth and expressive depth; I prioritize efficient breath use, balanced vocal fold coordination, and the release of unnecessary tension before pushing range, volume, or stylistic effects. Breath work plays a foundational role in my lessons, not as an abstract concept but as a practical, embodied skill, and I guide students to experience natural expansion, controlled airflow, and responsive support through simple, repeatable exercises that can be applied directly to singing. I emphasize coordination over force, helping students understand how the voice works in a way that feels intuitive rather than mechanical, often using imagery, sensation-based cues, and clear, accessible explanations to meet different learning styles. My methodology blends classical principles, such as legato line, resonance balance, and clarity of vowel formation, with contemporary techniques suited to modern styles, allowing singers to move confidently between genres without compromising vocal health. Rather than separating “classical” and “contemporary” voices, I focus on functional consistency across the range, smoothing register transitions and encouraging a speech-connected sound that can be adapted for pop, musical theatre, jazz, or other styles.
