Mia - Get to know your vocal coach
I am a vocalist with a degree from the University of Hull and one year of experience as a vocal tutor. My performance background is rooted in musical theatre, with additional experience in jazz and blues. I am currently working towards a PGCE in Further Education training. My teaching focuses on performance-based skills such as microphone technique, vocal interpretation, storytelling, and confident stage presence, alongside healthy vocal technique. Lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual performance goals. I offer vocal lessons for both children and adults, working with a wide range of ages and experience levels. Lessons are tailored to suit individual needs and goals, whether for confidence building, skill development, or performance preparation. Singing lessons highlights
My teaching approach is performance-led, student-centred, and adaptable, designed to support both technical development and confident expression. I focus on building healthy vocal technique alongside practical performance skills, ensuring students can apply what they learn in live and studio settings. Lessons incorporate microphone technique, audience preparation, movement, and ensemble work, helping students develop strong stage presence and musical awareness. I place emphasis on interpretation, storytelling, and stylistic understanding, particularly within musical theatre, jazz, and blues. Sessions are structured yet flexible, with clear goals, constructive feedback, and encouragement of reflective practice. I aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel confident to explore their voice, take creative risks, and develop as independent, expressive performers.
