Alexander - Get to know your vocal coach
I began singing in church choir at the age of 8 which began my musical journey that has become my career. Throughout my childhood I sang activley in choirs, theater productions, and jazz bands, and during high school I recieved operatic training from the Santa Fe Opera through their Young Voices program. At 17 I attended a high school program at the Berklee College of Music studying contemporary voice, music production, and jazz piano. I now live and work in New York city as a vocal coach, music teacher, composer, musical director, producer, and gigging musician in genres ranging from theater to R&B to jazz to metal. My lessons focus on helping you find your true inner voice while supplementing with practical musicianship skills such as theory, rhythm, sight reading, and harmonic knowledge. It is my firm belief that the voice is the most flexible and powerful instrument that we have and I aspire to help induvidual find their voice and explore all of its capabilities.

Singing lessons highlights
The voice is a very personal thing, it is literally a part of us. Learning singing can feel so much more vunerable and emotional than other instruments because we tie our voices so strongly to our sense of self. It is because of this that I strive not only to learn about the voice, but also the person behind that voice and to make sure that you feel safe, encouraged, and supported in every possible. As someone with personal experiences with negative and restrictive voice teachers, it is incredibly important to me that we never lose sight of the core reason why singing even exists and that is joy. I will never tell you can’t do something. You want to sing that high note? Lets do it. You want to riff like Tori Kelly? Absolutely. You want to develop your rock belt or metal scream? Rock on man. I believe that creating a nurturing environment also creates the best oppurtunity to challenge yourself to achieve things you never thought possible. I will push you to be the greatest you can be, but never at the expense of kindness or empathy.
