Sarah - Know your english tutor
I'm Sarah Lozada, an experienced tutor. I have been teaching since 2019. I taught ESL to kids and adults. My passion will always be focusing on educating students who are enthusiastic in learning English. My lessons are always fun and interesting. I use colorful pictures and interactive games for my kids lessons. We learn English in a fun way. We do magic tricks and arts and crafts in class too. Though we will use textbooks, we will not rely entirely to it. My adult lessons will always be interesting and challenging. I always make sure that my students will learn to express themselves and learn to ask questions to keep the conversation going. My test preparation classes are always helpful. Oftentimes, a mock test is required before an official regular class starts. This is to place the student to their level and work on their strengths and weakness.

English classes overview
Teaching isn’t about being a walking textbook; it’s about being a linguistic chameleon who knows when to play and when to get down to business. When I’m working with kids, my methodology is basically "learning by stealth." I rely heavily on Total Physical Response (TPR) and gamification because, let’s be honest, a seven-year-old doesn't care about syntax—they care about winning. We’re jumping, gesturing, and using exaggerated energy to map English words directly to actions. I don't "correct" them in the traditional sense; I just model the right way back to them so they stay confident. If they’re laughing, they’re usually learning, and my goal is to lower that "anxiety wall" before it even has a chance to go up. With adults, the vibe shifts from entertainer to facilitator. Adults bring a lifetime of experience and a specific "why" to the table, so I ditch the fluff and focus on Task-Based Learning. If a student needs to nail a board meeting or survive a trip to London, that’s exactly what we rehearse. I follow a strict 70/30 talk-time rule, where the student does the heavy lifting while I act as a safety net. I’m big on "delayed correction" here—I’ll take notes while they speak and we’ll deconstruct the errors together at the end. This keeps the conversational flow natural and respects their intelligence, ensuring they feel like a partner in the process rather than a student in a desk. The common thread across all my lessons is a focus on scaffolding and real-world connection. I never throw anyone into the deep end without a life jacket; we move from "I do" to "we do" to "you do" until the language feels like muscle memory. Whether I’m using a puppet to teach a toddler or a mock-up contract to teach a CEO, I’m looking for that "aha!" moment where the language stops.
