Ervin - Your piano teacher

Hi Everyone, My name is Ervin, originally from Hungary. My musical background is mainly classical but can do some jazz as well. I have studied intensively 8 years of piano, 2 years of accordion and music theory and a couple of years of the pipe organ which currently revising. I'm capable of theaching complete behinners (children and adults) up until grade 8+ level. My lessons are tailored to the student's needs be it for fun or for more serious staff, like graded exams, recitals. I have had more than 50 students so far since started teaching in 2019. I like to involve as much music theory as possible as I think understanding theory is greatly contribute to students success. I also include ear training, sight reading, scales and any other piano techniques to enhance the students knowledge, confidence, self-esteem for a successful journey in piano playing.

Piano lessons at a glance

I like teaching in more traditional way, structuring, dividing the lesson into 3-4 different sections, like pieces, scales or any other piano technique. To start the lesson I advise to the students to do some technical staff (like scales, arpeggios, etc..) in which I incorporate correct body, hand and finger posturing as this greatly contribute to the fluency of playing. Then I continue with piano piece (-es). Here I normally explain what the piece is all about, what is the bacground of the piece, why and when the composer wrote it, to whom it was dedicated, the correct hand and finger using, frasing, dinamics, pedal uses. I also like to do (especially with students wanting to do exams) sight reading and aural tests as well. I, if there is any time left, include music theory when I can explain the key, key signatures, intervals and the chords involved.
