English classes overview
I am glad to be able to share my teaching experience. I was raised in a ESL School in Brazil, from a Brazilian mother and an American father. They opened up an ESL School. My father who was an Anthropology PhD student at the time in the 1970's, dropped school and decided to pursue developing a methodology that would be intuitive, natural, that would entice students to produce language from the very first day. He used a natural, communicative and task-based approach. He named it Interactive Story Telling. With that, he added TPR, which further improved the experience of the students. On Preply.com, I've had the opportunity to largely use my father's methodology, and adapting it to the digital world. I use spiraling, task-based activities, allowing the students to produce language and test, re-test themselves at will. This is shown on the site www.etninja.com. The gist of my method, is the same as my father's with additional interactive aspect added due to modern technology, but also a modern-day aspect of learning, like when we use apps. Thank you for the opportunity to share this and hope to get started soon.
